Great Hotel, Fantastic Staff

This is a lovely hotel just outside of the heart of historic Lisbon. We were upgraded upon arrival to a river view room and junior suite. It was very nice, comfortable and well appointed. It had a wonderful view of the harbor and the pool. Many of the rooms have no view whatsoever. So I would book a water view and not count on an upgrade if it is important.

0/1 secBut the real differentiator here was the staff. The check-in clerk escorted us to our rooms and did our best to solve any issues. They were kind, thoughtful, and took their time with us. When other issues came up (not the hotel’s fault) the valet was generous with us and offered to help store our car. They were helpful when making restaurant reservations and suggestions.
Breakfast service had great staffing attending to the guests. I would have liked to see a few more options or some more fresher or homemade items but overall was very good. Dinner service at the upscale restaurant was generally very good. They were a few executions issues with some of the items on the menu which generated some mixed feeling. The homemade ice cream was truly next level. Excellent taste, and texture. The bar (which also served as an informal restaurant) featured a live piano performer some of the nights. A real highlight was watching the entire patronage break into song on some familiar hits. Everyone was having a good time.
The spa was also very nice. I got a wonderful treatment from Andrea and we enjoyed the heat of the indoor pool when it was a little too cold to swim outside.
Overall we felt really taken care of here. The staff worked hard to accommodate us and go above and beyond. I would highly recommend them.
