I had some hesitations about staying at this hotel. At the time of booking, it was significantly more expensive than other five star hotels in the city (nightly rates can vary and are often less than I paid). However, I didn’t want to stay in a modern hotel without any character, and given our short stay in Seville, wanted to maximize my experience.

The hotel is a gorgeous historic palace. Every hallway and space exudes timeless luxury in a way that cannot be recreated. The hotel staff was extremely nice, escorting us to a bar to wait for the room to be ready, an upgrade to a junior suite, and late checkout. They helped us with dinner and show reservations (and took a hefty cut of the price for themselves).

The breakfast spread was truly a highlight. There were so many high quality options available across multiple rooms it felt like they had outdid themselves.

The room and bathroom were very nice with a small sitting area outside the bedroom. This room lacked natural light as one room had a small window and another had a boarded up window that would open to the hallway — but it wasn’t a big deal.

I booked through Amex Fine Hotels but also was able to get my Marriott number on the reservation. As I result, I earned both Amex and Marriott points for the stay defraying the cost a bit.

Overall, I would highly recommend, but try to book with points or far in advance to get better value than I did from the room rate.
